Light and Bright Kitchen and Living Room
I have made some changes over the last few weeks around the house and they were all very easy and quick changes but they made a BIG impact. Joanna Gaines from the hit show Fixer Upper on HGTV is such a role model and a little while back she updated a house and added the most amazing atrium in the house, since then I have wanted to add fresh herbs into my life. I got these shelves at Ikea and I had them styled with some dishes but I now have floating shelves in my dining room area ( which I can’t wait to show you next week).

How to Build and Hang an Antique Sliding Barn Door
There are many reasons why you would want to use a sliding door but the main reason I choose to make this door sliding is because it prevents the door from opening into the room which ultimately frees up floor space. The door glides along a pipe track and stays almost flush to the wall.
I actually took the existing door off the hinges and installed the pipe track with casters but you can also build this door fairly easily with just two steps, see down below for detailed plans. Continue reading →
